Big "T"

Cost: $99.95

Price is for the kit only, gas or electric Combo kits available  - see info below.......

Well here it is. I know it has been a bit of a wait but this has been an ambitious project for us and has taken some patience. There are a lot of parts and pieces that had to come together before this could become a reality. But here it is. We are excited about it and hope that you will share that excitement with us. I have logged a couple of hundred flights on a number of different versions of the prototypes and I can tell you it has become a favorite.  We have test flown about 10 different electric power units with 20 or so prop and gearbox combinations on 6 to 12 cell packs of varying capacities. We think you will like the smooth power of the E-combo we have put together,  with more than enough power and a very decent run time. We have tried several glow engines and settled on the Magnum .25 for our gas combo but feel that any .15 to .40 would be acceptable with the .40 being outrageously powerful.  I also think a .30 size 4 stroke would be excellent for the plane. We have tried to make the plane as easy as possible to assemble for first timers as well as those with some experience. As far as how she flies, well lets just say very very nice. I have already taught a number of first time pilots how to handle a plane in the air with it. Landings are slow and easy and stall is gentle and straight ahead. should you happen to hit the ground a little too hard, the landing gear is designed to pop off and of course the wing will come off because of the rubber bands. The wing can also be folded for storage and transport. so here are some pictures and if you want to see how to build it, check out the instruction set on this web. A little farther down on this page you can see the two combo kits available for the Big T. We will have pictures of the final electric version soon.

 specs:

span - 72"

chord - 11-1/4"

length - about 45"

weight - 4 to 4.5 lbs

power - glow: .15 to .25

power - electric: speed 600 geared with 8 or 10 cell

radio -  standard equipment for the glow version  --  smaller and lighter for the electric is best, we would recommend our micro FMA receivers and metal gear HS81 servos (which we have in stock) to save a little weight but she will fly fine on standard gear, just acts a little heavier in the air.

This is the parts layout for the Big T electric combo. At this point the combo should add $115 to $130 to the price of the kit. The combo price and some parts are subject to change as we are still working on the details of the system.

The combo includes: Prop and spinner, Master Airscrew Gearbox (we have rebuild parts), Clam shell motor mount and Earnst adjustable mount, Jamara Venti 600 or equivalent motor, 25 to 30 amp controller, 1400mah - 10 cell battery pack, associated plugs, wires,  and pigtails, Screws and bolts for the motor mounting.

Here is another accessory you can't be without! A good charger is invaluable for electric flight!

If you are getting into larger electric planes, such as the Big T, we highly recommend the Super Nova digital programmable field charger. This charger will handle 1 to 24 - 50 to 3000mah cells at up to 5A and can be programmed for small indoor and yard flier planes and Nickel-Metal packs. It can also automatically discharge and re-charge your packs. This one is a little more expensive but for the features available, well worth the cost and I know you won't be disappointed.

COST: $119.95

Gas combo

will have picture shortly

The gas combo will add 79.95 to the cost of the kit.

The combo includes: Magnum .25 motor, prop and spinner, motor mount, gas tank, fuel line, fuel filter, throttle cable and pushrod connector, motor mount bolts,

We have been very pleased with the Magnum .25 glow engine. It is an ABC ball bearing engine and has more power than this plane needs and has proven to be very easy to start and very reliable. Most of the time I hand prop it to start - I wouldn't recommend that though (got my fingers snapped once).
